The pandemic is slowly ramping down in Montreal, and the city is slowly deconfining. However, deaths and new infections continue to affect the communities of which we are a part, and especially marginalized communities and working class neighbourhoods. The recent decisions by the government concerning the reopening of businesses and public spaces seem to us to be much more motivated by economic interests than concern for public health. Solidarity and autonomy being at the core of our values the Koumbit team has thus chosen to maintain a restricted access to our office with the goal of reducing the risk of contagion and the strength of the next wave, both for health of our members and those they may be in contact with. Because we have the privilege of being able to do our work at a distance, we continue to favour working from home over presence in the office.
So, even if a few more Koumbitien.nes may be stopping by the office, it is still difficult to assure a certain stability for the open hours of our office. We thus encourage you to contact us by phone, email, IRC or through our website. If you need to come to our office, we ask that you wear a mask, for the safety of our members.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need any support or have questions regarding tools that could facilitate remote work for your organization.
We wish good health to all our partners, clients, and comrades.
In solidarity, the Koumbit team
